The Swamp was a short concept film, narrated by Nate Elms. Creating films is ever a reminder of how much one has to learn. 1/3 was done in Blender before resorting to storyboard frames.
I made this short film during my time at Vancouver Film School. I went to a wedding in 2020 and despite the happy atmosphere of the event, I was absorbed by the tradition of giving away the bride. The ritual struck me as archaic. One party sometimes had less choice in the matter. I tried to make a depiction of that perspective, in which dolls act mechanically, without thought, without emotion, each like the last.This was the first film I've made fully in 3D and I had a lot of fun developing the idea.
